About Us

Who we are

The Loud and Bright project team are Environmental Science seniors at the University of California Los Angeles, under the mentorship of Dr. Travis Longcore.

The project is our senior practicum research project, where we work to find a solution to a problem an organization presents to us. Our team, working with Dr. Caren Cooper of The Cornell Lab of Ornithology, is responsible for creating a citizen science protocol for measuring sound and light pollution impacting bird species. We that hope our work will eventually become a useful tool for evaluating the effect of light and sound on bird populations.
